Dr. Kaur’s Biography

Dr. Kaur was born and raised in India where she also attended medical school. After that, she moved to the United States and became involved with various volunteer research projects at MIND institutes at the University of California, Davis. She then joined the residency program at the University of Missouri, Kansas City and completed her post-graduate training in adult psychiatry. After her residency training, due to her passion for teaching, she joined as a faculty member at Truman Medical Center to be involved with teaching students and residents. Dr. Kaur also served as a Medical Student Clerkship, Director for Psychiatry at UMKC from 2015-2017 and was Assistant Professor at the Department of Psychiatry at the UMKC- School of Medicine. She also served as Medical Director at Crosswinds Counseling and Wellness from 2017- 2023. Now she is running her private practice as Compassionate psychiatry at Overland Park Kansas location. She provides hybrid services depending upon the patients’ needs: in-person Office visits who like to see her in her office location and continue with tele-consultations. Tele consultations depend on patient preference, which became more prevalent during pandemic due to the patient’s comfort, ease of access and being affordable.
Dr. Kaur is a Board-Certified adult Psychiatrist and is also trained in other FDA approved somatic therapies for depression- resistant treatments include TMS, ECT and trained in Maternal Mental Health (PMH).
Dr. Kaur is experienced in providing Tele- Psychiatry Services in various states. As she has been providing consultations at MD live since 2016 and started at Timely care provider in 2023.
She is Licensed to practice medicine in the states of California, Missouri, Kansas, South Dakota, Virginia Wisconsin, and provide services to which are clinically appropriate at the tele-Platform. She is passionate about working with children and adults to improve their emotional wellbeing. Dr. Kaur
has a strong medical background and is an expert in psychopharmacology Intervention.
Area of Interest
- She has special interest, knowledge, and experience working with women’s mental health including prenatal and post-natal mental health issues and children’s dealing with a variety of mental health issues.
- She also really enjoys working with and provide services to all young adults and have a considerable amount of experience with managing anxiety, Trauma related disorders, mood disorders, and other situational psychiatric symptoms in both men and women with medications.
- However, at Telepsychiatry consultations due to some federal regulations’ Dr Kaur has limitation to provide controlled medication.
